These #photographs are the never before published scandalous camera proofs from Brian Miller and his Partner Joe's Bears Perth Party held in 2005.
James first became friends with Joe in 1989 and later in 2003 met Brian in the smoker's lounge of Bears Perth and so this was how these two scallywags became known to the CADT Family. Joe passed after a long illness so we were saddened but not shocked, however, Brian's passing, while James was overseas, was unexpected to say the least.
Certainly, choking on a piece of meat was not how we imagined Brian's passing would be, yet apparently that was how it happened, allegedly! Ironic? Yes and pun intended!
This sudden death well before Covid, was a real shock to James' Mum and Dad who also were friends with Brian and Joe and our sympathies are extended to all who loved them.
Brian was always the life of the party at Bears Perth and he was famous for the parties he would host. The garden was always dressed up and Paul Hayter, the Bears President, remarked that Brian's annual party was the most popular of all the Member's hosted events.
Joe was the quiet achiever who was kind and generous. He didn't speak in English much but he understood what was going on. Brian never bitched about anyone or got into the toxic political bullshit that others are famous for in Perth and that's why a lot of people miss his easy charm.
Geoff Ward, who was also one of the Stars of this event, has also passed away and so we're publishing a set of previously camera proofs, we've not published before. But "not published by us" is the correct terminology here, given we have seen some of these images out and about!
We've included some of images of Brian that we wouldn't normally choose to publish but his happy face is something worth sharing as are the pictures of his glorious garden which we hope our photos represent well.
