This set of #photographs are of Douglas Hall taken in Sydney, Melbourne & Edinburgh in 2004.
This is what happens when you really get lucky and are able to hang out with a photographer when they are collecting images!
James met Douglas in Sydney when he came to Sydney and James played the role of tour guide and taxi driver. Then Douglas got a surprise when James turned up in Edinburgh to do the CELTA course and see some of the UK.
James appreciated the fact that he got to see Rosslyn Chapel and got shown the layout of Edinburgh so that when he returned from his journey South he was able to settle into life in the Scottish Capital with ease.
James has learnt that when folks come to visit Australia they bring with them a holiday personality that is friendly and charming especially to their taxi drivers and tour guides.
Further Taxi Drivers and Tour Guides in Australia know that Americans are usually good tippers, however, folks from the UK offer invitations to visit and stay, that they expect with the tyranny of distance, not to have to honour, thus proving they underestimate the travelling capacities of hot young Aussies!
Interestingly, Kiki and Herb's classic comedy performance on HMS President in the English Capital included Kiki's line, "I never need to know when it is time to leave, someone always tells me when it is time to leave!
Anyway once these Family & Garden photographs were done, which we think covered the cost of the accomodation etc, Rosslyn done and dusted & the CELTA Course Accomodation Booked, James's travel bags were easily packed, farewells said and it was off to Edinburgh Waverley for the train to London.
We're sure that Douglas and his Family have enjoyed our photographs and we wish them well and we look forward to having a milo and vegemite sandwich with Douglas, at his hotel, if ever he visits lovely Perth.
