London Pride 1990

London Pride 1990

I remember London Pride as a culture shock experience. Someone fresh from the rural Western Australia farm lifestyle I was told that this was a must see event while I was in London, So I went.

Above: London Pride 1990 Video from Fagmedia on Rumble.

I had imagined that I would not be going alone but as plans do they fell through and I found myself trudging around not knowing anyone but staring at the wonder of it all. Little did I know it but this was just the start of a career walking around large public events with a camera.

Thankfully, I met some great people, including Jill and Andy, from Metropolitan Community Church who I hung out with for a while. Andy remained in contact with me for quite some years before the tyranny of distance got in the way.

It was the day before digital cameras, so these photographs were taken using film and most definitely not a SLR. But they are historical documents and large sizes for purchase are available.
