New Gay Newspaper Vol1 Summer 2006

These are large sized images of the New Gay Newspaper Volume One Summer 2006. We've kept these large sized so folks can read the articles and see the pictures. #SOPI

The New Gay Newspaper (NGN) was published by the Perth Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence at a time when there was no #LGBTQ Newspaper in Perth. The NGN covered events with a large photograph section along with news and current affairs.

The NGN was influential in that it provided articles on the Marriage law reform that in conjunction with the Marriage Chapel of the Black Swan at Perth Pride Fairday was the start of the Equal Love Campaign in Australia.

The LGBTQ leadership community saw the grassroots support for the Sister's Chapel and realised the issue had widespread support and so they decided to run with it.

The LGBTQ Leadership Community won't admit this because they like to rewrite history to erase the involvement of grassroots people. They don't want to have the community know that grassroots action, that doesn't have a leadership community controlling the narrative, can result in change.

Please note the website and email details on the cover pages etc are not current!

The Gallery, Above, contains A4 sized Page images for narrative context and your viewing pleasure.
