These #photographs are from the Sydney LGBTQ Mardi Gras Opening Event in 2004.
This was a lovely event on a balmy Sydney evening at Hyde Park so it was easy to get to and there was a good number of people in attendance.
The theme, "Metamorphosis", seemed to leave people scratching their heads but the disco lights and fabulous music and comedy made up for the lack of coherence in the branding.
From a History point of view, these photographs include our first ever images of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Sadly we're aware that some have passed to become Nuns of the Above!
